Berkmar High School Counseling Department Philosophy

The Gwinnett County Public Schools Board of Education adheres to the philosophy that its students acquire the knowledge and skills to be successful as they continue their education at the postsecondary level and/or enter the workforce. Pursuant to this vision, the philosophy of the Berkmar High School guidance program is that it will be an essential and integral component of the educational process. This assumption is built upon the belief that all students, as a result of a comprehensive guidance and counseling program, can meet educational, personal, and social objectives that will enable students to become successful, responsible and contributing citizens.
