The career academy model is a national school reform effort that has proven successful in transforming student achievement and preparing students for college and career readiness. Our goal through this initiative is to increase student achievement and success through a career-focused educational approach. The key to this effort is partnerships with local industry that will allow students opportunities at experiential learning where students can develop knowledge, skills, and character from experiences inside and outside the classroom by applying their knowledge and conceptual understanding to real-world situations. The College and Career Academies at Berkmar High School strive for every student to participate numerous experiential learning activities during their time in high school.
